SBC-iMX8X main power is provided with 12V DC power supply. Adapters for European AC and US AC outlets are included. Connect the power supply to connector J3 before turning on the device.

Serial Console

To start using serial console connect your host PC to the micro-USB connector P12 with the USB cable from the Evaluation kit.

USB

SBC-iMX8X features two USB2.0 ports available via dual USB connector U30.

Ethernet

SBC-iMX8X is equipped with two Ethernet ports via RJ45 connectors.

  • P2A – secondary Ethernet port.
  • P2B – primary Ethernet port.

PCI-Express

Mini-PCIe devices can be installed into the SBC-iMX8X mini-PCIe socket P11. Full / half size mini-PCIe modules are supported.
Jumper E15 must be installed for mini-PCIe operation.

CAN bus

Two independent CAN bus interfaces are available via headers P17 and P18.
To start using CAN bus the following jumpers should be installed:

  • P17 - E11 and E12
  • P18 - E13 and E14

Please refer to CL-SOM-iMX8X reference guide and SB-iMX8X schematics for details.

RS485

RS485 interface is available via connector P16.
Please refer to CL-SOM-iMX8X reference guide and SB-iMX8X schematics for details.

Wireless

WiFi/Bluetooth

For WiFi operation connect the WiFI/BT antenna (included in the evaluation kit) to CL-SOM-iMX8X connector ANT2.
For Bluetooth operation connect the WiFI/BT antenna (included in the evaluation kit) to CL-SOM-iMX8X connector ANT1.

Cellular

USB modems in mini-PCIe form-factor can be plugged into mini-PCIe socket P11. For modem operation:

  • Insert the cellular modem into socket P11.
  • Insert the SIM card to socket P10.

Display

HDMI

CL-SOM-iMX8X evaluation kit contains MIPI-to-HDMI adapter. To start using an HDMI monitor follow the next steps:

  • Install MIPI-to-HDMI adapter into socket P47.
  • Connect HDMI cable to connector J1.

MIPI-DSI

SBC-iMX8X is compatible with the KD050HDFIA LCD display panel.
To enable the display connect the data cable to connector P22.
To enable the touch-panel connect the touch-panel cable to connector P46

Camera

SBC-iMX8X is compatible with the LI-OVO5640-MIPI camera module.
To start using the camera connect the camera module to connector P8.
