UCM-iMX8M-Mini: Debian Linux: Installing Debian images onto UCM-iMX8M-Mini eMMC

Please use the `CompuLab Deployment Tool` to install UCM-iMX8M-Mini Debian Linux onto on-board eMMC storage.

The `CompuLab Deployment Tool` is a shell script that allows to deploy a working OS image from micro-SD card to UCM-iMX8M-Mini on-board storage (eMMC).

Follow the step-by-step procedure for a selected image:

  • Prepare a bootable SD card and use it to boot the system as described here.
  • Run Debian Linux image you intend to deploy.
  • In the terminal window issue `cl-deploy`
  • Select a destination:
    On UCM-iMX8M-Mini eMMC device is mmcblk2

  • Please note that all the previous data on the target storage will be erased

  • While the installation process is running the output screen shows the log and progress

  • The following message will be displayed once the process is complete

Post installation

  • Remove jumper E15 [see drawing] in order to boot the system from on-board eMMC storage.
  • Reboot the module so as to start newly deployed system.
